Case History – AYLA

Made in Rilheva – A real Internet of Things story

“For more than three years 97 wells have worked h24, managed by a supervision system that allowed us to work in total safety”

The company

Società Italiana per Condotte d’Acqua S.p.A. is an Italian company, and it stands for the construction of major worldwide works.
From its very beginning, in 1880, the Company assumes an important role both in Italy and globally, building dams and hydroelectric plants, ports and maritime works, hydraulic and irrigation projects, civil works for thermal and nuclear power plants, environmental protection issues.
For quality and technical effort they collected great international reviews.

Goals and challenges

The Company had to face an unprecedented hydraulic challenge: the groundwater management in “Ayla Oasis Project” dewatering in Aqaba – Jordan.
The goal was transforming 430 hectares of desert into a beautiful oasis crossed by lagoons and surrounded by resorts, luxury residences and facilities.
The main problem was about engineering: lowering by about 5m the aquifer water table to carry out the work according to the project. It was essential a precise control of the dynamic levels of aquifers and imposing a constant dewatering.

How did you meet Rilheva?

The meeting with Rilheva occurred by chance, but it changed the management process radically.
However, we didn’t think to obtain such a huge amount of benefits.
Now we are truly aware that plant data knowledge is the real project success key.

Rilheva solves

Rilheva was simple to install and use, thanks to its app we always had “in the pocket” the complete process control.
It enabled an ongoing control of widespread stations, even remotely sending commands and set points.
We considerably optimized the process by reducing as much as 50% inefficiencies.

Why would you recommend it?

Because it is simple, fast and reliable (even in desert areas): no need to install software and no computer skills are required.
We could share information among multiple contractors surveying objective data and granting us to reduce decision-making time.
